Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of breakfast as a meal. I usually don’t have much time and often don’t feel hungry until much later in the later. I generally have to try quite hard to come up with recipes that I want to eat. This recipe of indulgent raspberry Nutella oats with roasted hazelnuts is now very high on my list of breakfasts that I do want to eat.
Can I really eat chocolate for breakfast you ask… why not?! is my response.
Indulgent doesn’t mean nutrient dense when it comes to this recipe – oats are packed with fibre and antioxidants and are naturally gluten free. Paired with raspberries which are high in vitamins and antioxidants too, you’re onto a winner.
This filling, energising breakfast will keep you full until lunch, plus you’ll feel like you haven’t held back on enjoyment either!
This raspberry Nutella oats recipe calls for roasted hazelnuts. You can either buy pre-roasted or do it yourself at home. I like to roast mine at home and I follow this great recipe.
What else do I need for these raspberry Nutella oats?
- Rolled oats
- Water
- Milk (I like oat milk) – if you’re looking to bump up the protein, try a different milk such as soy.
- Maple syrup
- Raspberries (fresh or frozen)
- Nutella
- Roasted hazelnuts
It all comes together quickly, particularly if you still with rolled oats or quick cook, so you won’t have to spend ages standing over the stove. Even better – this still tastes great if you pop it in a Thermos and eat on your commute or when you get to the office (the Nutella will have completely melted and spread into every delicious bite by then too).
