Ingredients

For the dredging

  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tbsp five spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Chicken & broccoli

  • 400 g chicken breast diced
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil we use rapeseed
  • 100 g fresh broccoli chopped into bitesize pieces
  • 150 g white rice (dry) or 2 servings

For the sauce

  • 50 ml runny honey
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 gloves garlic grated
  • 1 thumb sized piece ginger grated

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine together the ingredients for your dredging mixture and then toss the diced chicken through to coat well
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the sauce ingredients - use a whisk to combine well
  • In a hot frying pan with cooking oil, fry the chicken pieces until cooked through (timing varies based on the size of chicken pieces you're using)
  • In a saucepan, simmer the sauce mixture for roughly 7-8 minutes until thickened
  • Once the chicken is almost cooked, add the thickened sauce to the frying pan with the broccoli and stir well to combine. Allow to simmer for 2 minutes more until the broccoli begins to soften
  • Serve the chicken and broccoli with cooked white rice
