Warming Chai Spiced Hot Chocolate… don’t those words just make you feel happy inside? Rich and creamy chocolate with a delicious blend of spice perfect for autumn.
The weather is definitely shifting here in England, to my favourite time of year. The leaves are falling and the wind start to whistle through the trees. I immediately have the urge to snuggle up inside and get cosy, preparing for colder months and all of the exciting holidays and celebrations to come.
This hot chocolate is so versatile and easy to prepare but you can also make it super decadent and impressive for guests or friends and family coming to visit.
How to make warming chai spiced hot chocolate:
This hot choccie can often be made with store cupboard ingredients you’ll probably have around the kitchen.
You’ll need:
- Milk of choice
- Chai teabags (or use syrup if you prefer)
- Vanilla extract
- Maple Syrup
- Cocoa or hot chocolate
- Whipped cream (I like the spray kind for ease)
Optional additions:
- Cinnamon sticks
- Star anise
- Cinnamon/cocoa for dusting
- Dried chilli
To prepare your hot chocolate, you’ll simply need to combine your ingredients together in a pan on the stove, except the whipping cream and any toppings. Bring the mixture to a medium heat and allow the teabags to steep in the mixture for 3-4 minutes.
Taste to make sure it’s ready and then carefully pour into your favourite mug. Spray on the whipped cream and add any other toppings of choice.
