Quick cinnamon brioche french toast – a Sunday morning staple recipe that everyone should have made at least once in their lives! If you’ve never tried french toast with brioche, I highly recommend trying this one out.
This recipe is super simple and made with basically all staple home ingredients, only requiring you to source a fresh brioche loaf and any toppings you want to add. The brioche offers a rich sweetness thats hard to beat, but you could switch it out for another loaf if that’s what you have on hand. Challah bread is similar to brioche and works really well here too.
It can all come together in about 10 minutes, providing you with a decadent weekend brunch idea that’ll leave you feeling both fancy and full.
How to make Quick Cinnamon Brioche French Toast
Ingredients:
- 2 whole eggs
- 80ml whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Fresh brioche loaf (or other fresh loaf if that’s what you’ve got)
- Dash oil (for pan) or butter
- Strawberries and Maple syrup for serving
How to make:
- In a bowl, combine eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon – stir well
- Transfers to a flat dish or plate in preparation to soak the bread
- Slice your loaf of bread into thick pieces (2-2.5cm or just under 1 inch)
- Soak your slices of bread in the prepared mix, turning over half way through, 1-2 minutes each side
- Whilst your bread is soaking, get your frying pan ready with a splash of oil or butter – heat to high
- Transfer each slice of soaked bread to the hot pan, cooking for about 2 minutes on each side until golden
- Serve with berries and maple syrup!
Tips!
- This is a great batch recipe to feed a crowd – keep your cooked slices warm on a plate in the oven while you finish the rest to serve all at once.
- As you are cooking, the slices will likely speed up in cooking time as you continue, as the pan gets hotter – bear this in mind and adjust accordingly.
- Switch up your berries or fruit to keep it seasonal and use what you have on hand!
- Try it with Challah bread instead of Brioche.
